BASE.INFO team has interviewed Willem Jonker the Founder of HealthyCoins project. We have asked the most topical questions to get acquainted with the project and to learn the future plans of the HealthyCoins team.
Please welcome, Willem Jonker.
Please describe your company/project in 2 sentences.
HealthyCoins give coin holders access to the profits from the medicinal cannabis cultivation markets in Africa - both the potential from high income from existing operations, and the potential capital appreciation when a new cultivation licence is awarded.
Why did you decide that blockchain should be the basis of your project?
To give as many people as possible the opportunity to participate, whether they live in a country that allows the growing of cannabis or not.
Why did you launch the ICO? Was it the only option to collect the funds?
No, we successfully raised $16 million from private investors for Medigrow Lesotho, a licenced African medicinal cannabis producer.
Briefly describe your team. Why these people became the engine of your project?
The team can best be viewed on healthycoins.io. These twelve people are all involved in the actual operations of the various companies around Africa - as farmers, pharmacists, a legal advisor, financial controllers, project managers, IT experts etc.
What are the main centerpiece and the highlight of your project? What will attract the investors' attention?
Cannabis and cryptocurrency - a match made in Africa. Cannabis is officially the fastest-growing industry in the world. Africa is a low-cost producer.
What are your thoughts about ICO marketing? Can it be really effective due to all the restrictions and other phenomenas?
The restrictions are there to protect the public but they deprive the public of information. I am not in favour of the restrictions.
Why is your project better than your competitors?
As far as we know, this is the only cryptocurrency that gives coin holders access to the legal medicinal cannabis cultivation industry in Africa - so strictly we don;t have any direct competitors.
What are the major ways of monetization for your project?
95% of the profits from the cannabis operations will accrue to the coin holders. Thus the underlying value of the coins will go up. If someone needs cash, they can sell some of their coins.
Which markets are the most attractive for you right now? Do you take in consideration the USA and other countries with the legal restrictions for the crypto crowdfundings?
We accept coin holders from all countries but expect them to make sure they are eligible in terms of the regulations that apply to them where they live.
Describe your project in 3 years? Will it change something in the world?
Yes - we expect "alternative medicine" such as cannabis to be called "medicine" in a few years' time, and what we currently call "medicine" will be called "chemicals".
