Sep 12, 2018 by Rico Wise

BASE.INFO team has interviewed Juan Pablo Vazquez Sampere the CEO & Co-Founder of UTEMIS project. We have asked the most topical questions to get acquainted with the project and to learn the future plans of the UTEMIS team.

Please welcome, Juan Pablo Vazquez Sampere.

Please describe your company/project in 2 sentences.

UTEMIS uses a token to create a single economic space for Business to Business (B2B) companies in Latin America.

Why did you decide that blockchain should be the basis of your project?

Blockchain is about reliability, it's about believing that the information that you see has already been checked and not hacked. This is precisely the largest underserved need for Latin American businesses.

Why did you launch the ICO? Was it the only option to collect the funds?

We can get Venture Capital money from Latin America and other places, usually that money comes with their own interests, we wanted to launch a project where our priorities are well aligned with the people we want to help.

Briefly describe your team. Why these people became the engine of your project?

Advisors: we have the best schools and experts in banking and payment platforms.

Management Team: five people with extensive business experience and successful exits of previous startups.

Technology Team: over 40 years of combined experience developing the most sophisticated applications.

What are the main centerpiece and the highlight of your project? What will attract the investors' attention?

We will repurchase 50% of outstanding tokens and will burn them in 10 Months (Initial UTS Price = 0.01 USD).

What are your thoughts about ICO marketing? Can it be really effective due to all the restrictions and other phenomenas?

ICO Marketing is actually damaging for investors. ICOs should not be about who has the most money for promotion, but about who has the best business model that helps more people and increases cryptocurrency acceptance.

Why is your project better than your competitors?

First we solve important and real problems:

Problem 1: Finding companies to do business with, Latin America is very inefficient, finding customers and suppliers overseas is really challenging.

Problem 2: Trusting people. Once you have found someone, how do you trust that it is a legitimate and honorable company?

Problem 3: Bank transfers. The average commission for a bank transfer in Latin America is 25% (yes… 25%!) there are several political reasons that explains this.

Second we solve this problems with outstanding products:

Product 1: A large comprehensive database of all companies in Latin America.

Product 2: UTEMIS Reputational Blockchain, where every transaction conducted is recorded so businesses reputation becomes the driver for bringing in more business.

Product 3: An escrow account, so 100% of the times, the money from the buyer is protected until the seller has delivered and the buyer has okayed the order.

Third, these products have a very profitable revenue model:

Revenue model 1: Advertising, to have a larger shop or to appear in the priority list.

Revenue model 2: A fixed 1% commission fee is applied on all transactions after a certain number of transactions that are free per month.

Revenue model 3: Profitability obtained from managing the escrow account.

What are the major ways of monetization for your project?

Revenue model 1: Advertising, to have a larger shop or to appear in the priority list.

Revenue model 2: A fixed 1% commission fee is applied on all transactions after a certain number of transactions that are free per month.

Revenue model 3: Profitability obtained from managing the escrow account.

Which markets are the most attractive for you right now? Do you take in consideration the USA and other countries with the legal restrictions for the crypto crowdfundings?

Asia and Middle East. You cannot participate in this TGE if you are a citizen/resident of USA and/or China.

Describe your project in 3 years? Will it change something in the world?

Year 1: start operations and consolidate Mexico, Brazil and Colombia.

Year 2: expand to the rest of Latin America.

Year 3: expand to the USA for companies that buy Latin American goods.
