Polkadot’s Rob Hanermeier has become the most recent digital currency developer to achieve fellowship from the Thiel Foundation. This Foundation is famous for annually selecting and awarding up to 25 young entrepreneurs with 100,000 US dollar grant over two years. The winners are encouraged to leave school in favor of pursuing their dreams, offering help and assistance on every step of the way. The Foundation is known for advocating the principle of teaching young people through interaction with real world.
There are four blockchain developers in this year’s 20 winners. Previously, Vitalik Buterin of Ethereum has also been selected by the Foundation.
Habermeier is believed to play an important role in the world of digital currencies in the future, along with his Polkadot project, which is working on creation of a heterogenous technology that hopefully tackle blockchains current major adversities, such as scalability, security and interconnection. The Polkadot network will be able to join numerous altcoins, smart contracts or any app to provide connection between blockchains.
The Polkadot’s innovation will allow customers to create new blockchains much easier, making the process almost intuitive.
Jack Abraham, an Executive Chairman of the Fellowship has stated that the entrepreneurs are treated better than ever nowadays, with people willing to step away from conventional ways of doing business.
